Development Specialist – Posting #18-096    

Major Duties: 

This position works under the supervision of the Fund Development Director to raise and manage money in support of agency-wide programming, and to promote the public face of the agency through marketing and outreach. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following:

  • Manage and customize multiple databases to generate accurate and timely reports, acknowledgments and lists for direct mail, events, and other activities
  • Assist with developing and carrying out communications plans including direct mail appeals, emails, social media and newsletter communications
  • Working with agency’s website manager, manage online giving tools
  • Oversee and coordinate in-kind donations, including working with program staff to maintain wish lists and manage inventory and storage of in-kind donations
  • Serve in leadership role to plan and implement regional and online fundraising, marketing, public awareness and special-focus events
  • Work directly with event sponsors, vendors, volunteers and auction/raffle donors
  • Work with Marketing to ensure proper branding and messaging at events
  • Manage ticket sales and guest registration at events and pre- and post-event transactions, including processing and data migration
  • Track and manage grant application deadlines, submissions, and reports
  • Assist with website and social media updates
  • Maintain Lifeline Connections profiles on public websites
  • Reconcile donations with finance department on regular basis
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services preferred
  • Extremely high-level organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete all tasks with high attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Experience with and knowledge of database management best practices, including database cleanup and maintenance
  • Experience with CRM software, ConstantContact and WordPress preferred
  • Proficiency with mail merge, data import/export, mail list generation & processing
  • Ability to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously, including ability to prioritize work projects and meet deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and donor information
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and change
